Here is a recipe for Salisbury steak:
Ingredients:
1 egg
1 can of condensed French onion soup, around 10.5 ounces
1/2 cup of dry bread crumbs
1/4 teaspoon of salt
A pinch of pepper
1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
1 tablespoon of flour
1/4 cup of water
1/4 cup of ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon of prepared mustard
6 cups of cooked egg noodles
Chopped fresh parsley (Optional)
Beat the egg in a large bowl. Then add to the egg around 1/3 cup of the French onion soup, bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Add the ground beef, and mix lightly. Make 6 oval patties, and fry the patties for 3 to 4 minutes on each side in a skillet. Set the patties aside. In the same skillet, add flour and water, and make a smooth paste. Now add the remaining French onion soup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Allow the sauce to cook for around 2 minutes, while stirring it continuously.
Return patties to the skillet. They should be covered and simmered for 15 minutes or till meat is no longer pink.
Serve patties and gravy over noodles. Garnish with parsley if desired. You can also serve the Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes instead of noodles.
