Marinated Grilled Shrimp Recipe

Shrimp tastes delicious if it is grilled; and if its marinated grilled shrimp, it tastes even better. There are many recipes for marinated grilled shrimp, but the one listed here is one of the simplest and easiest ones you will ever find. You will virtually be spending no time in preparing the ingredients for cooking.

What you need is around 1/4 cup of olive oil, 1/4 cup of ketchup, 5 cloves of chopped garlic, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 2 tablespoons of chopped basil, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, salt to taste and around 2 pound of shelled and deveined shrimp.

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients together. Do not add the shrimp as yet. Put all the mixture in a Ziploc bag and then add the shrimp. Seal the bag tightly, and then shake it vigorously to ensure that the shrimp gets completely covered with the marinade.

Now put the shrimp in the refrigerator for a minimum of one hour. If you can leave the shrimp to marinate overnight, it will taste much better. If you marinate the shrimp of an hour, make sure that you turn the bag a few times during that hour.

Now light your grill. Skewer the shrimps and grill each side for 2 minutes. You know the shrimp is done when it turns opaque in color.

Serve the marinated grilled shrimp with a salad, garlic bread or on its own. It is just too heavenly, and you will not want to eat anything else.

In case you do not have fresh basil, you can always use dried basil. However, this will alter the taste quite a bit. Also, if you are going to be using wooden skewers instead of metal ones, make sure that you soak the skewers in water before you use them.
