Nutrition is the food that is needed to for a person to grow healthily. It consists of daily dosage of vitamins and minerals along with proteins and carbohydrates required by the body. These nutrients help in the digestion and also the regular growth in the body.

Even prehistoric human beings ate nutritious food instinctively. They ate naturally available food like fruits and by hunting for meat. Meat and poultry foods have higher nutrition and also are rich in proteins. The study of nutrition helps us to keep our body in shape by making the right choices in food. If we eat a balanced diet, then we will get adequate source of nutrition for our everyday consumption. A person should ideally have a protein rich food which also includes some carbohydrates and along with it they should also have fruits and vegetables. This can be considered a complete diet and the body gets the complete nutrition it requires for everyday living. Lack of nutrition also hampers the brain development in children and adults.
