Remember your kitchen is the source of all you eat. Keeping this powerhouse clean would help you to stay healthy and evade all kinds of food borne diseases. It is in your kitchen that all the bacteria and germs might take birth in case if they find suitable conditions. So, if you do not want them to take birth in your kitchen, then you must adhere to certain important food safety norms. Your kitchen should be a clean place to prepare and eat meals.

In personal hygiene, the utmost important thing is the washing of hands regularly. Make it a practice that before start handling the food you must have washed your hands. Keep your long hair tightened properly at the back. Never comb inside the kitchen. The dirt attached to hair might be a cause of several infections. When you are sick especially you are down with some viral or bacterial infection stay away from kitchen as much as possible. Use a handkerchief when you are either coughing or sneezing. Keep a watch on your finger nails. Try to trim them regularly and clean it daily to avoid germs.

The next important aspect is the kitchen sanitation. You must wash the entire surface thoroughly with warm water and soap regularly. All the utensils should be kept inside a safe and not exposed t outside dirt. Before using a utensil it should be washed properly with soap. All the raw food items before cooking must be washed thoroughly with water. Use disposable papers for wiping. Avoid cloth towels as it spreads bacteria. One must clean all kitchen appliances and cupboards very often.
