Signs and Symptoms of E. coli Diarrhea:
Diarrhea: The most common symptom of E coli infection is diarrhea. Initially, it begins with watery stool and after 24 hours the stool comes out along with blood. This diarrhea along with blood is due to sores that form in the intestines. This may last from 2 to 5 days. In rare cases vomiting and nausea sometime may occur.
Kidney Failure: Most of the times, E coli infections gets cured in maximum of five to seven days, but in 5 to 10 percent cases, a difficulty called Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (HUS) may occur. This is a condition in which the kidneys slowly stop functioning with reduced urine output and fatigue.
Fever: Another common symptom of E. coli infection is fever, though it does not happen in all cases. As per the statistics, usually mild fever occurs in few cases with the temperature being less than 101 degrees Fahrenheit.

Cramps in Abdomen: Along with diarrhea, E coli infection usually comes with abdominal pain and cramping. As per the statistics, this may start with mild abdomen pain but quickly progresses to serious cramps. The incubation period of E coli bacteria in some cases is less than a day or can be 10 days long.
