Frappe seems to be the latest addition in McDonald’s endless list of food items. A perfect blend off coffee with different flavors has made frappe a huge hit among the young and old alike. - Calories: These drinks are high in calories irrespective of their size content. A small caramel and mocha frappe will provide at least 450 calories.
- Fat: They have 20 gms of fat. Nearly forty percent of the total calorie content is derived from fats as opposed to the recommended allowance for an adult per day, which is estimated to be at 25 to 35 percent (Dietary Guidelines for Americans).
- Sugar: A small sized frappe has at least 56 gms of sugar!
Medium caramel frappe:
It provides 550 calories and has 29 gms of fat. It has 71 gms of sugar and is therefore an absolute no-no for diabetics.
Medium mocha frappe:
It provides 560 calories and contains 24 gms of fat. It has a sugar content of 70 grams.
Large caramel and mocha frappe:
Calories: Caramel and mocha frappes provide 680 calories. They have a fat content of 29 and 28 gms respectively. They have a sugar content of 88 and 87 gms respectively.
Frappes are extremely rich in saturated fats and should therefore never be consumed in excess. Saturated fats have a direct effect on the cholesterol levels in the body. A prolonged intake of fat causes high cholesterol and obesity.
