Stewing Hen Recipes

Long before frying or roasting even originated boiling was the only way of cooking. We began with boiling veggies and meat and as time progressed and so did our taste we shifted to unhealthy options accompanied by health problems. Boiling meat has always taken so much of time but at the end what you get to swallow is something so pure and delicate. Hence, when kids fall sick, stews are commonly served as chewing or swallowing bones might tend to create indigestion.

So be it Asians, Americans or Europeans all of us have different ways of stewing chicken. Chicken is the softest meat available under the entire meat category and the safest too. Chicken stews are perfect for cold winter nights accompanied by bread and cheese. Even the bones can be added to the stew and it really has a different flavor altogether. Soup would generally be clear and watery whereas the stew might be much like a sauce.

Here are some tips to guide you if you are planning to surprise your family with a great chicken stew.
You first need to chop the chicken into boneless and bones. You need to boil it for nearly 2 hrs continuously until all the pieces have turned invisible. The bones must leave the juices out. Once you get the smell of everything you can add veggies like onions, peas and potatoes and stir for another 10 minutes or so. Once set, add a dollop of butter or cheese and garnish with herbs, dry powder and spices if any. The blend of veggies and eat will prove to be rich and nutritious. But do not overcook the veggies.

There are other recipes that you might try, namely Spicy Caribbean chicken with chayote, Crockpot chicken stew with mushrooms and wine, Green chili chicken stew, Creamy champagne chicken stew, Jamaican brown stew and many more.
