It can be simmered for a few hours keeping the heat low or can be pressure-cooked for 40 minutes approximately.
This is just the primary process of stewing steak. In some recipes the meat is browned along with additional flavors. For example, to make brown Windsor soup, the steaks are browned using Marmite and Worcestershire sauce. Similarly, to make a yummy curry you should first brown the spices in a pan and then put the meat cubes to fry along with spices.
