Roasting Smoked Ham

Cooking ham has always been considered as time consuming and a bit tacky. Well, for those who still do not know what a ham is it is the hind leg of a hog. It is normally referred as pork shoulder. You can easily get cured, fresh, smoked and cared ham. In case you are still stuck with how to prepare smoke, read on.

Firstly, how to cook it in an oven which is quite simple provided you follow everything to the core. You would require 1 smoked ham, 1 cup of brown sugar; 1 teaspoon of black pepper , onion powder, garlic powder simultaneously followed by 25 whole cloves, olive oil, 2 tablespoon of regular flour, 1 tin of sliced pineapple rings, 1 cup of maraschino cherries and 2 cups of water.

Now let us start with the process. You first have to take a roaster and add 2 cups of water. Place the smoked ham and if you have a meat thermometer insert it in the toughest part of the ham.

Next, you have to bake it for nearly 21 minutes at 325 degree F. Do remember, that you should never leave the ham unattended and keep splashing drops of olive oil on it in between. Once the thermometer reads 160 degree F you have to switch off the oven. Remove it after a good resting period and with the help of a clean knife make insertions to check the tenderness. Fill in with cloves in between and rub some of the brown sugar and flour. Next you can season it up with the dry powder mixture along with placing the pineapple rings cherries. Now begins the process of caramelizing .You have to place it again for another twenty-five minutes at 400 degree F and voila your ham is ready to be relished.
