Chicken Roasting Times

A large section of Americans consider chicken to be their favorite meat. Even youngsters prefer fried chicken to fried beef. But we suggest that you also try out roast chicken once a while because it is equally delicious. Since chicken takes very little of cooking time you need to be extra careful while roasting. The process is almost the same.

You first have to defrost chicken at room temperature followed by marinating it and setting it aside for another couple of hours. Then wash the chicken add the dry powder and salt to it. Place it on the roasting pan and roast tit for some time. The temperature required for a medium roast is approximately 200 degree C. Now roasting time would depend on certain factors like size, quality, weight, choice and preference.

One kg chicken which might weigh two pounds, would approximately take 44 minutes to roast. Simultaneously a two kg chicken weighing four pounds would take 78 minutes to roast. Lesser weighing chicken would require less time. The other way if you have missed this would be by inserting knife inside the meat. If it comes off easily, your chicken roast is ready. Make sure you use a thin skewer. There is another way to test whether your chicken is fully roasted is by using a mea t thermometer. You just have to insert the thermometer and check the roast. It should be initially set at 175 degree F a broiler weighing 2 lbs will require 45 minutes to 1 hr. The oven should be set at 400 degree F. Similarly, a broiler weighing 4 lbs will require 2 1/4 hrs to fully roast. The oven should be set at 375 degree F. You can easily learn the timings once you keep attempting it over a period of time.
