What Meat Is Best Suited For Braising ?

There are many techniques used for cooking meat like boiling, grilling, roasting and baking, among others. Braising is also one such method for cooking meat. Braising involves cooking cuts of meat in liquid. You can also use vegetables in this type of cooking.

People can use slow cookers for braising meat. This technique is primarily used on the inexpensive meat cuts. By this method one can extract the flavor as well as tenderness from the meat which may not be possible otherwise.

Braising is basically wet cooking in which the meat is first seared and then simmered on low fire. To achieve the best results one should use a heavy stainless or a cast iron pot. Braising does not require much attention, and it is done to convert leather like meat into something very tender and juicy.

This method of cooking is used for tough cuts of meat such as chuck roast, shank, brisket, ribs and blade roast. Apart from these five most common beef cuts, one can also braise chicken. But while using chicken for braising, one should not use boneless or skinless chicken. It is better to use whole chicken, or you can also used legs and wings instead of the whole chicken. Braising can also be done with fish, fruits and vegetables. When using fish, make sure you select a firm fish for best results.

Hence, for those who want to churn out a tasty meal that is not too expensive, they can use braising as a cooking method. With this one can get a delicious meal of meats and vegetables without spending too much time and money.
