Baking Tuna Steak

Tuna steak is liked very much by all fish lovers. People like the tenderness and luscious taste of tuna steaks. You can cook a tuna steak in many ways. Here is a great recipe to bake it.

Ingredients:

  • Teriyaki sauce, soy sauce and honey, garlic and ginger or wasabi for marinating
  • Herbs and spices, such as salt, pepper, sesame seeds, etc.
  • Oil
  • Baking dish and a frying pan

Method of Cooking:
First of all, select a marinade of your choice and dip the tuna steaks in that marinade for 8-10 hours to absorb its flavor. Next, rub some salt and pepper over the steaks immediately before cooking and put other herbs and spices of your taste. If the steaks have been marinated with teriyaki or garlic-ginger paste, sprinkle some sesame seeds on it before cooking. You can add pounded sunflower seeds to flavor the steaks if these are marinated with tangy wasabi.

Next, choose an oil of your choice. Tuna can be cooked with any oil, from olive oil to avocado oil, or butter. Oil balances the aroma of marinade. While applying salt, pepper and herbs on the steaks blend all the ingredients into oil. It will help maintain the flavor, smooth cooking and avoid burning. Tuna is somewhat dry fish; therefore you are free to use a good quantity of oil.

Now fry tuna steaks in a pan to make it crunchy outwardly and juicy inside. Put the steaks on low heat and fry for almost four minutes on both sides. Then increase the heat to make it brown and crunchy on the outside. Tuna steaks can be baked also. For baking, take a shallow dish, put the steaks into it and cover with tin foil. Now set the oven at 450 degrees and bake the steaks for approximately 10 minutes for each inch of tuna’s thickness. Turn over the steaks in between.

Thus, you can prepare very tasty tuna steaks.
