Cooking Pork Ribs In Oven

Pork ribs are generally grilled but they can be very tender, moist and tasty when cooked in the oven. Firstly, season the ribs with salt, garlic, pepper, meat tenderizer, turmeric, cheese and paprika. You can also add other spices of your taste. To further make the beef ribs tender, you can marinade the meat or use Italian salad dressing.

Spread a thick aluminum foil in a rectangular pan suitable for baking and make sure you have enough foil to cover the whole pan while cooking the meat. Add lots of honey in such a way the ribs are immersed completely. Do not stack the meat as it would not help in cooking properly. Add ¼ inch depth of water in the pan to create steam and retain moisture. It would also prevent scorching of the foil due to heat.

While you place the ribs on the pan, the arch should face up. Add vegetables in large chunks like onions, potatoes and carrots while cooking in and around the ribs. Form a tent over the meat and do not make it air tight as the steam formed inside may cause bursting of the foil. But make sure it is covered enough to retain moisture.

Preheat the oven to about 325° F and bake the covered ribs for about an hour. Remove the pan, unfold the foil, raise the temperature to 375° F and cook for 10 to 15 minutes more. The ribs would become brown and the juices will separate out. If you have used vegetables, the flavor of these juices would be absorbed by the vegetables.

Recipe-For-Slow-Cooking-Pork-Ribs      One simple recipe for slow cooking of pork ribs is to mix onion, salt, vinegar, brown sugar, chili powder, ketchup and oregano and season the ribs with this mixture. Keep stirring the ribs in a cooker while cooking them on low flame for about 6 hours. On high flame, you need to cook for around 3.5 hours. Remove the ribs, arrange in a broiler and heat them. You can broil the ribs about 6 inches away from the heat until they become brown. Freeze the juices that have collected in the cooker for 10 minutes and discard the fat that collects. Boil the remaining defatted juices in high heat for about 15 minutes. More..
